IDR 1.3 Trillion from Lube Base Oil Plant Group III Dumai
Impressive business performance, annual increasing sales and production, as well as an impressive profitable performance. These are the 'face' of PT Patra SK – a joint venture between SK Energy Asia (65%) with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (35%) in Lube Base Oil Plant Group III in Dumai – which was visited by the Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero) early last November.
President Director & CEO of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Delas M. Pontolumiu, accompanied the Board of Commissioners contingent of PT Pertamina (Persero), led by President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Dr. Sugiharto, and Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Luluk Sumiarso.
For the year 2011 period, the project has recorded a profit of US$ 136.9 million or around Rp 1.3 trillion – undoubtedly an impressive achievement in the eyes of Dr. Sugiharto, who was serving as Minister of State Owned Enterprise when he did the groundbreaking of LBO Plant Group III project in February 2007.
LBO Plant Group III project is an implementation of cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea, peculiarly in oil and gas field, that was initiated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during a state visit to South Korea in 2006. President Yudhoyono also witnessed the inauguration of a joint venture between PT Pertamina (Persero) and SK Energy Asia in April 2006. Furthermore, the business process runs by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and SK Lubricants.
Just four years after its initial operation, the total volume of Lube Base Oil Plant Group III with premium quality products has reached 10 million barrels, while the by-products generated from Diesel (284,000 barrels) and Naphta (151,000 barrels).
